There have been dramatic scenes at Saint-Cloud overnight with a protest forcing the Saint-Cloud meeting in Paris, France to be abandoned.
It’s been reported that the protest is over planned changes to prizemoney with trainers and owners blocking the entrance to the parade ring.
Two Group One races were scheduled for the Saint-Cloud meeting with much of the focus being on Aidan O’Brien’s runners.
O’Brien was looking to extend his record-breaking season after the champion trainer surpassed Bobby Frankel’s record of 25.
The protest came following the first race and before the Group One Criterium de Saint-Cloud in which there were no French owned horses running in the race.
