Markab could take in the Prix Maurice de Gheest on the way to attempting to regain his crown in the Sprint Cup.
Trainer Henry Candy is thinking of sending the eight-year-old to France for the Group One over six and a half furlongs (1300m) on August 7 before the Haydock feature on September 3.
Markab put up his best performance of the year to date when runner-up to the much-improved Deacon Blues at Newbury earlier this month.
“I’m just contemplating Deauville on August 7, the Maurice de Gheest, for Markab. Otherwise I’ll keep him for Haydock,” Candy said.
The Kingston Warren handler also has a big sprint in mind for Dinkum Diamond.
The three-year-old opened his account for the campaign at Newmarket earlier this month.
He is heading for the Nunthorpe Stakes at York on August 19, in which he was seventh as a two-year-old last summer.
“Dinkum’s going for the Nunthorpe,” Candy said.
