Impressive French 1000 Guineas winner Golden Lilac will have her next race in the Prix de Diane at Chantilly on June 12.
Andre Fabre’s filly stretched her unbeaten record to four when she won the Classic by three lengths with British raiders Sharnberry, Rimth and Maqaasid unable to land a blow. Aidan O’Brien’s Wild Wind finished third.
Being by Galileo, the three-year-old should have no problem stepping up to 10 furlongs (2000m) for the French Oaks – but Fabre is not 100 per cent convinced about going over a mile and a half (2400m) later in the season.
“She will go for the Prix de Diane next,” Fabre told the Press Association.
“She looks a high-class filly.
“It’s a possibility that she could stay 12 furlongs later in the season for races like the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, but to be fair I don’t know.
“It’s difficult to tell from her breeding as she has a lot of speed on the dam’s side.”
