Sir Michael Stoute’s Cape Dollar is being trained with a tilt at the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in mind.
The daughter of Cape Cross signed off her juvenile campaign with a determined triumph in the Rockfel Stakes at Headquarters, and is now set to bid for Classic glory on May 1.
Owner Saeed Suhail has tasted previous Classic success with 2000 Guineas winner King’s Best and Derby hero Kris Kin and his racing manager, Bruce Raymond, said: “Sir Michael is very happy with her.
“She hasn’t grown a lot over the winter, but we think she’s a stronger filly.
“I would think she’ll go for the 1000 Guineas and I doubt she’ll have a run anywhere beforehand.
“She doesn’t lack experience and Sir Michael will be able to get her right for Newmarket.”
Raymond is also racing manager for owner Jaber Abdullah and is looking forward to a couple of fillies that run in his name.
“Music Show is a good filly and hopefully she’ll have a good year,” Raymond said.
“Lady Of The Desert ran very well to be second in the Abbaye at the end of last season and we’re looking at all the top sprints for her.”
