Race 1. (22:50) Coral Kincsem Handicap 1991m
12 Vee Sight (Bet Now: $4.40) looks the most progressive of this lot so happy to be in his corner. There was plenty to like about his first up win at Sandown where he sat back in the run before being presented wider and letting down powerfully to win and win well. Already has been subsequent winners from that race and he’s got the upside to win.
3 Migdam (Bet Now: $4.40) is another with good upside/progression and has the Stoute/Moore combo. I thought he was a very impressive first up winner at Doncaster. Didn’t really get clear air until the final 250m but once he got it, he went through his gears nicely to win with something in hand. Maps to do no work and be strong late.
1 Natural World (Bet Now: $17.00) is a first four prospect. First run as a gelding came at Newmarket where he stuck to the task pretty well in defeat when fourth to a talented aninal in New London. That was his first run since May 20, so you’d like to think there is improvement to come and is in a good camp.
Race 2. (23:25) Richmond Stakes 1207m
I’m keen each way on 1 Al Karrar (Bet Now: $6.50). Tom Clover trains this colt, and this stable has had a remarkable run with their juveniles this season. Debuted in a somewhat low race at Windsor, but he smashed the clock in bolting up and producing good change up speed when let down. All upside with him and each way, you can’t go wrong.
Purely on form, 7 Royal Scotsman (Bet Now: $2.45) is the one to beat. He bolted up at this track/distance two back before going to the Coventry at Royal Ascot where he ran a game third to Bradsell in what has been a red hot form race, with three G2 winners coming from the race since. If he relaxes in the run, he’ll look the winner most of the way.
6 Marshman (Bet Now: $11.00) is a working progress. He debuted down the straight at Ayr where he looked completely lost when he was let down but despite that, he hit the front, moved clear and won with plenty in hand. He can’t do things wrong and beat these, so hopefully that experience will bring him on.
Race 3. (00:00) Gordon Stakes 2412m
8 New London (Bet Now: $2.90) is the pony to beat. Charlie Appleby trained colt that was beaten in the Chester Vase, which ended Derby plans. Freshened up and went to Newmarket where he made a mess of them and gee he was impressive late the way he attacked the line. If he runs up to that, never mind natural improvement, he’s the one to beat.
5 Hoo Ya Mal (Bet Now: $4.60) is the much hyped Derby runner up that will join the GaiBott camp for the Melbourne Cup after his UK prep. He stunned most with his second in the Derby given his form leading in was just average relative to others around. Was that a fluke or is he the real deal?
1 Deauville Legend (Bet Now: $9.00) is another with potential Melbourne Cup aspirations so will be quite interesting to see how he goes here. Impressive win in the Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket last time, getting the suck run behind the speed before angling clear and showing good change up speed. A forward showing here and I dare say he’ll book his ticket.
Race 4. (00:35) Nassau Stakes 1991m
7 Nashwa (Bet Now: $1.90) has the runs on the board to win. Whether I want to take even money/thereabouts is another matter. But, she is on top. She’s really come of age this time in, highlighted by a last start win in the French Oaks, aided by a peach from Holie Doyle. This looks a weak G1, so while I couldn’t take the odds, she’s on top for a tip.
3 Lilac Road (Bet Now: $6.00) has been kept on ice with this in race mind for William Haggas and Tom Marquand. Overcame a leader biased track to win at York last time, really knuckling down strongly to get the job done in impressive fashion. Doubt she’s good enough to beat Nashwa, but runs well all the same.
4 Ville De Grace (Bet Now: $12.00) is one for exotics. She did beat Lilac Road at Newmarket and while she was down the track at York in the race mentioned above, she was far from disgraced. Freshened up to target this race, her form is certainly good enough to be around the mark.
Race 5. (01:10) Jaeger-Lecoultre Nursery 1408m
Playing a straight bat with 1 True Statesman (Bet Now: $4.50) for Mark Johnston. #TeamThey backed him with absolute confidence last start at Chester and he duly bolted up, running time and winning with something in hand. Ryan Moore takes over and stable has a good record in the race.
6 Seductive Power (Bet Now: $6.00) is one with upside/progression. Richard Hannon trained colt that was very good in his opening two career outings before going to Newbury where he bolted up after being near the speed throughout. He’s heading in the right direction and can measure up.
7 Miss Jungle Cat (Bet Now: $10.00) is a query at 1400m, but has solid form lines around her. Bumped into a star in Lezoo two back at Newmarket before going to York and 1200m where she was a a sharp winner. Is bred to be okay at 1400m and drawn out is no disadvantage I suspect.
Race 6. (01:45) World Pool Handicap 1005m
Waddle your finger and hope for the best here. 4 Sophie’s Star (Bet Now: $16.00) is worth a throw at the stumps at the good odds. Narrow fourth at Listed level at Ayr two back before stepping up to 1200m at Chester and for mine, she just didn’t run the six furlongs. Back to 1000m and drawn out, I think at odds, she’s worth a small 1×3 speck.
3 Get Ahead (Bet Now: $6.50) is worth another look. She ran at Royal Ascot and had zero luck in the run, getting badly checked on a number of occasions in an ugly watch. Drawn gate one could be a nightmare, but I think she’s progressive and her best is definitely good enough.
8 Dusky Prince (Bet Now: $7.50) has become a winning machine in recent times, looking to make it four wins on the bounce. He’s not beating much, but he is showing that he is a sharp 1000m horse at this level and does get Hollie Doyle to steer, so she has a bit going for her.
Race 7. (02:20) Tatler Ebf Maiden Fillies' Stakes 1408m
17 Sparkling Beauty (Bet Now: $5.00) on top but not a race I want to get involved in. She debuted at Newbury where she was the best of the first starters when a solid second to Liftoff. Drawn inside, but that should be fine given she has the race experience on the board and finds a thin maiden.
8 Miss Dynamic (Bet Now: $4.40) is well bred and creates interest. She debuts for Mark Johnston and gets William Buick to steer for start one. She cost 78,000 Guineas and has good bloodlines to work with, albeit they performed over further than this, but the market support suggests she’s here to run well.
6 Enola Grey (Bet Now: $16.00) has had two career outings under hte belt, which should hold her in good stead. Ran over 1200m at Newbury last time out and worked to the line pretty well when third. The rise to 1400m will suit her and while she still is green/raw, she does have talent.
