Our Canadian tipping guru, Ric Chapman, has once again stayed up all night doing the Woodbine midweek form. Here are his plays, comments, tips etc. Good luck
Race 1: 8:45am 1300m Turf
I think the form from the recent Sprint Series will be best here. So we look at both HITTERS PARK and PERFECT FORESTER. Both came into the series expecting to do well, especially Hitters Park who it must be said just didn’t seem to handle the conditions. He should improve a great deal now back on turf. The other guy, Perfect Forester raced boldly every time and nearly should have won the Final. Outside draw here is no worry and he looks very tough to beat. OCCASIONAL VIEW is in good form but that form has been in weaker races.
TIPS: (7) PEREFECT FORESTER, (4) Hitters Park, (3) Occasional View
Race 2: 9:14am 1700m Turf
This looks a good spot for PICCADILLY BEAU. He’s down in class and drawn perfectly. Because this is a weak field I think he hunts up along the inside, finds the paint and runs away from them. HYTHE will be well supported as well. Should drop in for cover and does finish hard. SLAM scored last start surprising a few and the form out of the race has been franked. This is no harder.
TIPS: (4) SLAM, (1) Piccadilly Beau, (7) Hythe
Race 3: 9:45am 1300m Synthetic
DARREN’S FORTUNE has new connections going into this after being claimed following a game 2nd this grade last start. Is coming back in trip for this but should flash home. FLO’S SYD may be worth having in your numbers. He looks to fly the lids and be on speed because this is a substantially weaker field than he has raced of late. VICTORIOUS BEAU has been just behind the best ones of late but does tend to race wide. If he gets a good trip he’s a show.

Race 4: 10:12am 1100m Synthetic
GWENDOLINE H is a get back run on type. Was DQ this grade last start after crossing line 3rd so is in form. Good draw. MY CANTATA should be fired up. She is in career best form winning a few this year and this isn’t any harder. Drawn to get the run of the race. JAYA HO will be big odds as she comes from Winnipeg and racing there is considered weaker. But she was flying over there.

Race 5: 10:45am 1600m Turf
LOOKING FOR EIGHT should appreciate this. He likes the turf and this is a class drop. Has the leading trainer looking after him and has the rails. Big chance. SURGICAL STRIKE has the ability to show up and the trip looks to suit. Will be competitive. NEVAEH’S VALENTINE has pace on his day and probably spears to the lead hoping to stay there all race.
TIPS: (1) LOOKIN FOR EIGHT, (8) Nevaeh’s Valentine, (5) Surgical Strike
Race 6: 11:15am 1700m Synthetic
Off the inside draw here MARITIMECONNECTION may be hard to roll. He will go forward and has the top jock steering. Looks good value for your numbers. The money will come for HMS. PINAFORE because she is in a strong stable and has won at this level over a shorter trip. Gets in well at the weights here and should sit off the speed and come hard late. PEACE SEEKER has a big weight but will drop in behind them and is fit. Has claims.
TIPS: (1) MARITIMECONNECTION, (7) Peace Seeker, (6) HMS. Pinafore
Race 7: 11:45am 1000m Synthetic
This might be the weakest field we’ve seen here for some time. None of them can win. LILLZ SO PRECIOUS and READY AND WILLING haven’t been far away of late so can show up. For 3rd, man have whatever you like.
TIPS: (5) READY and WILLING, (3) Lillz So Precious, (1) Nana’s Girl
Race 8: 12:12pm 1100m Synthetic
Another field of slow gallopers. At least we’ve seen speed from both TAKE IT EASY who had his confident bolstered with a all-the-way speed effort last start. This is only slightly harder. BLACK SAGE has also won when leading all the way but that was at maiden level. Will be thereabouts all the way. FARFALLA gets back and runs on. This may throw up a speed battle early so that gives him a hope.
