Champion mare Winx will visit Pierro in the upcoming breeding season.
Having lost her first foal and being given a year off from breeding, Winx is set to visit Coolmore stallion Pierro in the upcoming breeding season.
The ownership group of the four-time Cox Plate winning mare announced their decision in a statement on Wednesday.
Winx, who strung together 33 consecutive victories, lost her first foal, by I Am Invincible, in October last year, with the statement saying the mare had recovered well from the ordeal.
“Winx has been given a full year to recover from her ordeal and we are pleased to report that the mare has returned in great condition,” the statement read.
“She has been enjoying life on the farm with some friends while she is preparing to go back to the breeding barn this spring.”
Pierro, who stands for $110,000 at Coolmore, has sired six Group 1 winners, including champion Arcadia Queen, Pierata and Shadow Hero.
