Queensland Racing stewards have opened an inquiry into the beaten ride on a Mark Currie trained galloper at Toowoomba on Saturday.
Apprentice Isabella Rabjones rode the Mark Currie trained Vincit in the eight event on Saturday nights Toowoomba card in which the horses stablemate won the race.
Vincit jumped away well but was taken back to the rear of the field by Rabjones who sat quietly on the horse for a majority of the race and only asked to horse for a better effort once the race was over.
Vincit ran third beaten two lengths on the line but looked to have plenty in the tank as they crossed the finish.
Following the running of the race stewards opened an inquiry into the race and will seek evidence from trainer and jockey in regards to how the horse was ridden throughout the race.
Stewards opened an inquiry into the running and handling of VINCIT. After taking initial evidence from Apprentice I. Rabjones, the rider of VINCIT, Stewards adjourned the inquiry to a date and time to be fixed to enable them to obtain evidence from trainer M. Currie and to enable Apprentice Rabjonesโ master to be present at the inquiry.
