A Victorian trainer who was caught red-handed stomach-tubing a horse 90 minutes before a race has been banned from training for at least 9 months.
Mornington trainer Trent Pennuto and his registered stablehand David Price had been charged with the alleged raceday stomach-tubing of a horse at Moe on May 25.
Both Pennuto and Price pleaded guilty to the charges at the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board hearing on Wednesday.
Pennuto was disqualified by the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board for six months, with a further three-month suspension if he is re-licensed before the end of his disqualification period.
Price was subsequently suspended for four months for his involvement.
