Skyline Stakes winner Uate is still a chance of running in Saturday week’s $3.5m AAMI Golden Slipper (1200m).
The talented son of Ad Valorem is not nominated for the Slipper and connections would have to pay a late entry fee of $150 000 if they want to run.
However, with the unbeaten colt not running in this Saturday’s Pago Pago Stakes (1200m) as originally planned, the door is still open for a start in the Golden Slipper.
Trainer Kris Lees confirmed that the owners were yet to make a decision on whether Uate would run in the Slipper.
Alternatively, he could run in the Group 3 Schweppervescence (1400m), formerly the Baillieu Handicap, on the same day, or he may be saved for the Group 1 AJC Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) the following week.
Uate is exempt from ballot for the Golden Slipper.
