Caulfield trainer Peter Moody has shelved Cox Plate plans for classy mare Typhoon Tracy after her unplaced effort in Saturday’s Underwood Stakes.
Typhoon Tracy was forced to work across from a wide gate to lead before fading late when eighth behind the Mick Price-trained Heart Of Dreams.
The run has forced Moody into making a campaign switch.
“I don’t reckon she ran out the trip,” Moody said. “She probably showed she’ll be most effective at this level at distances up to a mile.
“We’re going to give her a freshen-up before we drop her back to mares’ races. A race like the Myer Classic would suit her perfectly.”
