Four time Group 1 winning Mare ‘Typhoon Tracy’ will start her Autumn Campaign in tonight’s Group 2 Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley in which she has been heavily supported in betting markets to win the race.
In a quality Australia Stakes field Typhoon Tracy has been easily the best supported runner with bookmakers tumbling her opening quote of $2.50 into $1.90 and she looks likely to start the race as the odds on favourite.

Typhoon Tracy is coming out of what could be said to be a disappointing Spring Campaign where she wasn’t able to secure a win in any of her four starts which included two Group 2 races, she was sent out odds on favourite in her last start on Victoria Derby day in the Myer Classic but was easily beaten by Sacred Choice who finally showed some brilliance after promising so much earlier in 2010, but was unwanted in betting after a run of disappointing results.
Punters who stuck with her during the Spring Racing Carnival will be hoping to recoup some of their losses tonight where she looks to be very well suited with little to no pace in the race in which she should get an easy run in front.
The main danger as suggested by the betting market is last start Hong Kong sprint entrant Ortensia who will be looking to continue from her very impressive International run where she went head to head with some of the best Sprinters in the world and wasn’t disgraced finishing off the race well in 5th position.
Many feel the Moonee Valley track wont suit her running style which is why she will start around $5-$6 for the race.
