Trainer Matthew Leek has been sent straight to the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board following a charge issued by Racing Victoria stewards.
It’s alleged Leek punched and/or kneed fellow Pakenham trainer John Gunning in the tie-up stalls during the Pakenham jump-outs on June 27.
The incident is alleged to have occurred following an argument after Gunning went to speak to Leek.
Stewards charged Leek under an Australian racing rule that deals with engaging in misconduct, improper conduct and/or unseemly behaviour.
His hearing will be held at a date to be determined.
