Group One winning jockey Craig Newitt is set to face an inquiry by Racing Victorian stewards in relation to alleged jockey betting.
As reported on RSN this morning Newitt is set to face Racing Victoria stewards in the coming days following a probe by stewards into jockeys betting.
“There’s not much I can say. I’m not too worried about it,” Newitt told RSN
Racing Victoria’s head of integrity Jamie Stier has confirmed the betting probe but did not give any further details other than it is an investigation that has been ongoing for months.
“It’s been going on for some months,” head of integrity at RV Jamie Stier said
Newitt who won Sunday’s Hobart Cup aboard Eastenders has 35 Group One wins to his name in Australia and overseas.
