Star New Zealand mare Melody Belle has been withdrawn from 2021 All Star Mile contention.
Te Akau Racing this morning announced this morning that one of their star mares Melody Belle would not contest the $5m All Star Mile where she was a $21 chance in betting with Sportsbet.
Melody Belle last week equaled Sunlight’s G1 tally after winning the Thorndon Mile.
Trainer Jamie Richards is still keeping is options open with regard to Melody Belle’s proposed schedule, but he has confirmed that a visit to the Gold Coast early in the Queensland Carnival and then on to a tilt at the Doomben Cup could well be on the cards.
A visit to Sydney is also not out of the question with the Coolmore Classic on March 13 being considered before the possible Queensland campaign.
