The Chris Waller stable has this afternoon has withdrawn Verry Elleegant from the world’s richest mile race, The All-Star Mile 2021 at Moonee Valley.
The stable’s decision to withdraw the Caulfield Cup winner during the voting period means that those fans who voted for her get the opportunity to re-cast their vote for another runner and thus remain in the running for a share of $500,000 as an owner ambassador.
Voting for The All-Star Mile 2021 closes at 11.59pm (AEDT) this Sunday night, 14 February with the Top 10 votegetters to secure a start in the $5 million race on Saturday, 13 March at The Valley.
The Waller stable have advised that it is their intention for Verry Elleegant to remain in Sydney this autumn to concentrate on local targets including the Ranvet Stakes, run over 2000m just seven days after The All-Star Mile.
Verry Elleegant was third in voting at the time of her withdrawal, behind Arcadia Queen and Behemoth, with close to 9,500 votes.
The Waller stable retains multiple entries in The All-Star Mile headlined by 2020 starter and multiple Group 1 winner Kolding who currently sits in 23rd position in the public vote.
