Star Victorian colt Tagaloa will be sent to have scans on Monday following his last placed finish in Saturday’s Caulfield Guineas.
Tagaloa who was backed into equal favouritism for the Caulfield Guineas weakened badly to finish at the tail of the field beaten eighteen lengths prompting trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalia Young to send the horse for scans.
“He is a bit sore in front and we will know more (Monday), basically.” Busuttin told Racing.com.
Jockey Craig Williams was unable to identify the issue with his Caulfield Guineas mount which he said failed to hold his position from mid point of the race.
“He failed to hold his position mid-race. I was concerned but I was happy to let him travel at that stage. All of a sudden he just kept losing ground really quickly. I never fully tested him. He failed to respond to my riding. I eased him down and it will be interesting to see how he comes through the run.” Williams said.
