Srikandi has made up for a 2014 placing with an all-the-way win in the Group One Stradbroke Handicap at Doomben.
Taken straight to the front from an inside draw by Kerrin McEvoy, Srikandi pinched a break on the turn and safely held her advantage.
Doomben 10,000 winner Boban ran on for second with the late-finishing Generalife taking the minor placing in the $2 million race.
Trained by Ciaron Maher, Srikandi finished third to River Lad in last year’s Stradbroke after being sent out favourite.
She went into this year’s edition as one of the forgotten horses after missing a place as favourite in the Doomben 10,000.
Srikandi improved her record to eight wins from 12 starts for almost $1.9 million in prize money.
