Spirited bidding between two rivals factions saw bidding explode on the Gold Coast for an impressive Snitzel colt.
His dam, Bonny O’Reilly (O’Reilly-Pretty) won 8 races, including 5 on the bounce in town with a stakes win tossed in there to boot, and all that made this bloke too impressive.
Coolmore eventually won the 10 minutes bidding war.
They spent $1.9million to secure him.
He was sold on behalf of Widden Stud, the second expensive yearling sold by the famed farm within 25 mins.
Just two lots earlier $975,000 went to the farm run by Antony Thompson for a filly by I Am Invincible out of the mare Bonaria (Redoute’s Choice-Decidity). She also won 8 races and won of them was the Gr 1 Myer Classic at Flemington.
This filly is closely relate to Group stars Legally Bay, Merchant Navy and Tessera. And Trent Busuttin bought her.
But the Snitzel colt was the real winner.
His dam Bonny O’Reilly and this is her first foal.
She’s also a half-sister to stakes winner Pretty To Sea.
