The dream of a Royal Ascot campaign for Right To Party has come to an end after the mare suffered an injury setback, ruling her out of racing permanently. The Group 1 Champions Sprint runner-up was set to make her return in the G1 Black Caviar Lightning at Flemington next Saturday, with plans to then target the G1 Newmarket Handicap and prestigious sprints at Royal Ascot.
Trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman and owned by Jonathan Munz’s Pinecliff Racing, Right To Party enjoyed a stellar spring campaign, securing three Stakes wins before being narrowly defeated by Sunshine In Paris in the G1 Champions Sprint at Flemington. Over her career, the mare had 15 starts for five wins and earnings exceeding $1.1 million.
Meanwhile, stablemate Isthmus will take his place in the Black Caviar Lightning to assess his suitability for a Royal Ascot campaign.
