Options for Red Tracer next weekend include Group One races in Melbourne but the mare is more likely to stay in Sydney for the Golden Pendant.

Trainer Chris Waller will enter Red Tracer for the Moir Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on Friday night, the Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Sunday as well as the Group Three Golden Pendant on her home track, Rosehill, on Saturday.

The fillies and mares race is also over 1400m, the distance of her breakthrough Group One victory in the Tatt’s Tiara in June.

The Golden Pendant would set up another clash with Appearance who relegated Red Tracer to second in Group One Coolmore Classic and Queen Of The Turf during the autumn.

“We’ve tossed up going to Melbourne with her but at the moment we’ll stick to this race which we earmarked for her with Nash Rawiller to ride,” Waller said.

“It’s 1400 metres first-up but she’s had two trials so she is fit enough.

“We plan to give her a soft spring and maybe go to the Myer Classic.

“But the focus is on the autumn and the Queen Of The Turf again.”

The Guy Walter-trained Appearance won the 2012 Myer Classic and that is again her target after a slight interruption to her program.

Appearance missed her scheduled return in last month’s Show County Quality and resumed in the Sheraco Stakes won by Driefontein on September 14, finishing ninth, beaten almost five lengths after running wide during the race.

The mare suffered muscle soreness when she tied up before the Show County but trainer Guy Walter said it was not a lasting problem.

“She’s fine,” he said.

“There are no problems and I expect her to improve.”

The Group Three Golden Pendant for fillies and mares replaced the Research Stakes (1200m) two years ago and is run under set weights and penalties.
