Jockey Nash Rawiller is confident that his Cox Plate mount More Joyous can defeat the hot favourite So You Think on Saturday.
When questioned on Sport 927 this morning, Rawiller said that he thought that More Joyous was underrated by many.
“I think this mare’s very good, and I think she’s still a bit underestimated,” Rawiller said.
“She has to prove it, but she doesn’t have to prove it to me.”
“She can definitely win.”
More Joyous, winner of the George Main Stakes (1600m) and Toorak Handicap (1600m) at her past two starts, is running at 2040m for the first time.
However, she is bred to run the trip.
By More Than Ready, she is out of the Sunday Silence mare Sunday Joy.
Sunday Joy was a winner of the AJC Oaks (2400m), and also ran 3rd in the Rosehill Guineas (2000m).
A winner of 10 from 13 starts, including three Group 1s, More Joyous will be attempting to stamp herself as a champion on Saturday.
