Trackman Craig Tompson has declared Racing To Win will win the Group I George Main Stakes (1600m) after turning in the best gallop of his spring campaign at Randwick on Tuesday morning.
The grey flyer worked over 1200m on the Kensington track running, 1:20.50 with his final 600m covered in 37.2 seconds and his final furlong in 11.90 seconds.
“He’s in great shape and his work was first-class,†Tompson said.
“He’s improved quite a bit since his Theo Marks win and I can’t see how they can beat him of this morning’s work. He will win the George Main.â€
Tompson believes Rock Kingdom, the horse Racing To Win beat in the Theo Marks, has also improved since his solid first-up performance.
Rock Kingdom also worked on the Kensington track over 1200 in 1:16, finishing off his final 600m in 36.10 seconds with his final 200m clocked in 12 seconds.
“His work was significantly better than his work into the Theo Marks,†Tompson said.
“I don’t think he can turn the tables on Racing To Win but he’s on target for his spring aims.â€
The Anthony Cummings stable is on fire at the moment and Tompson said one horse punters need to keep a close eye on is Silent Witness’s half-sister Sister Madly.
Sister Madly is dual nominated on Saturday with the filly entered in the Group II Stan Fox Stakes (1400m) and the Reginald Allen Quality over the same trip.
Sister Madly also galloped over 1200m on the Kensington track in 1.19.20 with her final 600m run in 35.30 seconds and the final 200m in 11.80 seconds.
“She’s improved again,†Tompson said.
“I thought she was a run short going into her last start and she won impressively.
“Her run the other day was outstanding, she might be a good horse and I hope they run in the Reginald Allen.â€
