A promising sprinter out of the Robert Smerdon yard wo was set to target some of the feature sprint races over the Spring has been ruled out of racing for up to six months with a bone chip.
Robert Smerdon reported this morning that his galloper Ability would miss up to six months of racing after surgery was required to remove a bone chip after failing as favourite at Caulfield on Sunday.
Ability won the G3 Bletchingly Stakes during the winter and was being aimed at G3/G2 sprints during the Spring.
