Leading trainer Peter Moody is set to receive his biggest ever pay cheque on Friday if his runners pass the $1 million mark in prizemoney for the Moonee Valley night racing season.

So far this night season at the Valley his runners have earned $694,999 in prizemoney and he needs another $305,001 to reach $1 million.

For all his 23 career Group One wins and triumphs with superstar Black Caviar, Moody’s biggest pay cheque for a single win is approximately $60,000.

If Black Caviar wins the Group One William Reid Stakes (1200m) as expected he needs his other runners to make up the $5001 shortfall and Moody will drive away with a $134,000 Mercedes-Benz GL350.

That plus the $30,000 trainer’s percentage would give Moody a $164,000 result.

The vehicle is the richest prize offered to a trainer in Australia.

The major prize for the jockeys’ category is a $33,500 television and Luke Nolen will claim that prize if Black Caviar claims her 11th straight victory.

Moody has 13 nominations at Moonee Valley and apart from the unbeaten Black Caviar the stable has Avenue, Hinchinbrook, Master Harry and Panipique nominated for the $500,000 William Reid (1200m).

An MVRC spokesman said if Black Caviar won the Reid, Moody winning the Mercedes-Benz would be a formality if the 15 entries were reduced to an eight-horse field at acceptance time on Wednesday and one of them was a stablemate of Black Caviar.

Prizemoney for the Reid is paid down to eighth with sixth to eighth receiving $10,000.

However all except Black Caviar have been entered for other races with Avenue and Panipique to be paid up for the Group One Sportingbet Classic (1200m) at Morphettville on Saturday.

Hinchinbrook has been entered for the Listed Darby Munro Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill and Master Harry for the Group Two Challenge Stakes (1200m) at Warwick Farm on Sunday.
