The breeding barn beckons for Peace Force but she still has some unfinished business on the track.
The six-year-old Group Three winner will go to auction at the National Broodmare sale in June with trainer Gerald Ryan hoping to add to her stakes record before she is sold.
Her immediate assignment is the Group Three Darley Crown (1300m) at Hawkesbury on Saturday, a race she almost won a year ago when a long head second to her now-retired stablemate Solicit when the race was run at Rosehill.
“She just got beaten in it last year by Solicit so it would be nice if she could do it this time,” Ryan said.
“She will be going to the Gold Coast sale so we will probably take her to Queensland again.”
Peace Force exacted her revenge on Solicit in last year’s Group Three Glenlogan Park Stud Stakes at Doomben at her next start after the Darley Crown.
Ryan has a satellite stable at Hawkesbury but apart from Star Wars in a benchmark race on Saturday, his runners are trained out of his Rosehill base.
His feature runners at the meeting include Shoreham in the Hawkesbury Gold Cup (1600m) and Spill The Beans in the Hawkesbury Guineas (1400m).
“Spill The Beans was disappointing in the Arrowfield Sprint but we can’t find any reason for that and he has done very well since,” Ryan said.
“Shoreham’s run was good second-up and I expect him to go well.
“The plan is to take him to Brisbane for the Brisbane Cup.”
Formerly trained in Melbourne, Shoreham came to Ryan when long-time client, Queensland-based Les Cowell, bought him last year.
In his first two runs for Ryan, Shoreham ran second in the Tatt’s Cup at the Gold Coast and third in the Grafton Cup.
He was given a long spell and has had two starts back, the latest when 2-1/4 lengths sixth behind Mighty Lucky over 1400 metres at Randwick on April 16.
Angels Beach has been entered for the $125,000 Hawkesbury Rush but Ryan said she would more than likely head to Brisbane for the Listed Bribie Handicap at Doomben.
