Patinack Farm will produce a Warwick Farm team on Saturday which will be aimed at delivering success in a cross-section of autumn Group One races.

Nathan Tinkler’s racing and breeding operation will have most carnival bases covered in the five runners trainer John Thompson has nominated for four stakes races.

Of most interest will be Gimcrack Stakes winner Hussousa who starts her run towards the Golden Slipper in the Widden Stakes.

“She’s had one trial and she was unextended to win then she competed in a jump-out at Randwick on Friday,” Patinack racing manager Robyn Hartney said.

Hussousa made an impressive debut with a 1-1/2 length Gimcrack Stakes victory at Randwick in October.

She posted 58.42s for the 1000m, almost half a second faster than the time recorded by the colt Pierro in the following race, the NSW Breeders Plate.

Hussousa occupies the third line of Golden Slipper at $17 with Widden rival, the Magic Millions winner Driefontein, a $13 chance in first markets.

Silver Shadow Stakes winner Pane In The Glass will be one of two Patinack runners in the Light Fingers Stakes.

Hartney said an autumn target for Pane In The Glass had not been finalised but the filly held nominations for the Newmarket Handicap and the Doncaster Mile.

“Nathan and John are leaving their options open with Pane In The Glass,” she said.

“She might be kept to 1200 and 1400-metre races but then you have to remember she was second to Helmet in the Champagne Stakes over 1600 metres last year.

“That has ended up being a spectacular form race.”

Stablemate Kneeling, who has also been entered for the Newmarket and Doncaster, will resume in the Light Fingers.

“She could be a bit of a smokey for the autumn,” Hartney said. “I thought her trial win was super because she wasn’t pressured at any stage.”

A Derby contender as well as a mare being set for the Sydney Cup will complete Patinack’s stakes race commitments on Saturday.

Isopach, beaten less than two lengths into fifth place in the Victoria Derby, kicks off an Australian Derby campaign in the Royal Sovereign Stakes.

Five-year-old staying mare Galizani will resume in the Breeders Stakes as she takes her first steps towards the Sydney Cup.
