He might not be as quick as say Black Caviar, but this unbeaten 3YO colt OXLEY ROAD (Exceed and Excel-Bonnie Mac) is going to win a lot of races for trainer Peter Moody.
Well, you’d think so anyway after he led all the way toying in the end with his rivals at Caulfield in the Gr 3 Zeditave Stakes worth $160,000.
Moody trained Black Caviar too.
The 1200m presented no worries as he was nearly 2 lengths clear of IT’SOURTIME (Time For War-Zedoble) with VALAQUENTA (Street Boss-Savanna) back 2 lengths away in 3rd.
The win was worth $96,000 for the winner’s connections. He now has won $124,250. He cost $125,000 as a yearling! And as a beautifully bred colt, another stakes win may well make him worth millions in time.
“He’s very fast and that was a tough win, up in grade,” claimed trainer Moody.
He showed that his mid race pace was quite eye-catching considering it was only his second race start.
Those behind him aren’t all that slow either.
It’sourtime who chased him home was coming off a pair of wins and a Gr 2 placing.
And Valaquenta has also won a pair of races and been Gr 3 placed.
