Trainer Neville Parnham expects talented filly Flying Missile to lead and take plenty of catching in tomorrow’s Breast Cancer Research Centre Of WA-Belgravia Stakes (1200m) at Ascot.
Flying Missile had to work hard in the early stages of the Crown Perth-3YO Classic (1000m) and finished just over two lengths behind Liwa in eighth.
The filly started from barrier 10 on that occasion and Neville Parnham said he didn’t think his charge would have any issue finding the front from barrier one tomorrow.
“I’d expect her to jump and lead,” he told TABradio
“I think she just did a little bit too much work the other day and being first-up she got a bit excited.
“I think it took away some of the finish from her.
“Luck will play a part and I expect she will make her own luck by bouncing to the front and dictating on her own terms.”
Flying Missile’s unplaced finished in the $100,000 feature on October 9 was just the second time in nine career starts she’s finished outside the top three.
The only other occasion was the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate in April.
Brad Parnham replaces his brother Chris aboard Flying Missile in tomorrow’s Listed event, with the younger Parnham to ride the David Harrison-trained Searchin’ Rocs.

Flying Missile opened a $6.50 chance with TABtouch for the Belgravia and has eased slightly to $8.
Arcadia Grace is a $3.50 chance for the $125,000 event, ahead of It’sarayday ($3.90).
War Gem is the other runner for the Parnham stable in the three-year-old feature and is a $31 chance.
Parnham said he felt War Gem would measure up to the class but conceded the barrier draw would make it tricky for him.
“Steve will have to devise a plan whether we go back or forward,” he said.
“He’s very capable and I think quite a lot of him.
“He worked well last Saturday morning. We gave him a pretty searching gallop, and he came through it pretty well.
“It was a good one for a three-year-old to work with a proven horse in Brooklyn Pier.
“He probably worked a shade better.”
Tomorrow afternoon’s Belgravia Stakes gets underway at 5.00, with the first of nine races at 12.36.
