Nash Rawiller’s chances of reaching a century of Sydney winners this season were dealt a major blow on Wednesday when wet weather forced the abandonment of the Canterbury race meeting.
Rawiller moved to 92 metropolitan winners in Sydney at Rosehill last Saturday with four meetings left to notch the wins needed to reach the milestone, but that has been reduced to three due to the Canterbury washout.
That leaves the premier hoop in need of a bag of winners at Warwick Farm on Saturday if he’s to keep alive his century hopes in the final week of the season.
Rawiller has just four rides at Saturday’s eight-race Warwick Farm meeting but three of his mounts have been installed as favourite with TAB Sportsbet.
Duke Of Cornwall is the $3.60 favourite for the Happy 35th Birthday Mario Tartak Handicap (1200m), Essence Of Success is equal favourite for the Warwick Farm 100 Club Handicap (1600m) at $3.80 and Daintree Road heads the market for the ATC Foundation Memberships On Sale Now Handicap (1400m) at $4.60.
Rawiller is already assured of his second straight Sydney jockeys’ premiership as he is 18-1/2 wins clear of his nearest challenger Corey Brown.
