There are reports this morning that champion jockey Nash Rawiller was detained attempting to leave Hong Kong last night.
The former Sydney jockey was yesterday disqualified for 15 months for breaches of the strict betting regulations in Hong Kong.
South China Morning Postโs Alan Aitken told RSN’s racing Pulse program that he fears Rawiller was detained by the ICAC when attempting to leave Hong Kong last night.
“I’m certainly fearful that the ICAC have arrest him. I’m fearful that they will attempt to make the case that he should serve jail time.” Aitken said.
“What comes of that, I don’t know”
ICAC (Independent Commission Against Corruption of Hong Kong) can hold a person for up to 48 hours and only allow a detainee to make one phone call.
More to come…
Strong mail from Hong Kong that jockey Nash Rawiller was arrested last night at the airport. @chapeauxx says ICAC under laws can keep a person 48 hours before announcing anything.

More from Hong Kong on jockey Nash Rawiller. The terminology could be Nash was detained rather than arrested at airport last night. Weโll wait for updates.
