Jockey Michael Walker has scored his first win since a long lay off due to injury at Moe today.
Walker has not ridden since he had to be helped off a horse after a race at Moonee Valley in February when his back seized up.
He underwent an operation on his L4 and L5 vertebrae and then his comeback was delayed a few more weeks after he also had to undergo surgery on a troublesome hip.
Walker returned to race riding with one ride at Pakenham yesterday before a full book of rides at Moe today in which he brought up his first winner since his return aboard Galileo’s Pearl in Race 8.
