Desleigh Forster believes it’s a case of less is more when it comes to training Adebisi.

It will be five weeks between runs when Adebisi lines up in Saturday’s Group One Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill but Forster has deliberately kept the gelding fresh.

“He’s a seasoned horse now and we don’t do that much with him anymore between runs to keep him happy,” she said.

“His gallop between races at Eagle Farm last Wednesday was enough to keep him fit.”

Adebisi dead-heated to finish fifth behind Mrs Onassis in the Group One Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on February 23 in an effort that pleased Forster.

“It was a really good run because he was on the wrong leg the whole way and just couldn’t get around Caulfield,” she said.

“But he kept trying all the way to the winning post and he’ll much better going this way in the Galaxy.”

The five-year-old returned to Forster’s Eagle Farm stables four days after running in the Oakleigh Plate and hasn’t been adversely affected by the amount of travelling.

“He’s a good traveller and takes everything in his stride,” Forster said.

“He likes being around the stables at home and he’s right where I want him to be fitness wise going into this race.”

Before the Oakleigh Plate, Adebisi claimed a Group Three win in the Rubiton Stakes at Caulfield 1100 metres.

He will be aiming to the second Queensland-trained sprinter to win the Galaxy in consecutive years with Temple Of Boom was successful last year when the race was at Randwick.

Temple Of Boom’s trainer Tony Gollan is overlooking the gelding’s defeat in the Challenge Stakes at Warwick Farm on March 16 when he finished seventh to Snitzerland.

Gollan said the firm surface at Warwick Farm didn’t suit Temple Of Boom whose best performances have been on rain-affected tracks.
