Leading NT jockey Terry Treichel is set to face a long suspension after being charged with a betting-related offence.
Terry Treichel has been charged with a breach of AR115 which carriers a minimum two year ban on Friday and was stood down from riding at Darwin on Saturday and Alice Springs on Sunday.
The TRNT said in a statement that authorities had taken evidence and reviewed the betting statements from multiple corporate bookmakers before issuing the charge against Treichel.
TRNT Chief Steward David Hensler said the investigation remains ongoing and that further charges may be laid.
Treichel finished second on the NT Jockey Premiership last season and has ridden in NSW and Queensland throughout his career.
