Disgraced former Australian horse trainer John Nikolic has been charged by Fijian police just days after he made a miraculous recovery from a drug-induced coma.
Nikolic has been charged with one count of illicit importation of drugs, one of unlawful possession of illicit drugs and one count of failure to declare arms and ammunition to a customs officer.
John Nikolic’s wife, Yvette Nikolic, faces similar charges for her involvement.
The couple were sailing from the US to Australia when Fijian police discovered a large quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine tablets on-board their yacht ‘SV Shenanigans’.
Mr Nikolic made a remarkable recovery after reportedly drinking a potentially deadly cocktail containing liquid cocaine and methamphetamine in an attempt to self-harm.
The result of which saw Mr Nikolic rushed to Lautoka Hospital’s intensive care unit after falling into a drug-induced coma.
It’s reported that Fijian police discovered 13 bars of cocaine, 65 ecstasy tablets, about $20,000 of undeclared cash along with ammunition and guns when they raided the couples yacht.
