Punters had their hearts in their mouths at Pukekohe Park in New Zealand on Friday when the jockey on a $2.10 favourite almost cost his mount the race after easing his mount near the finishing post.

Jockey Cameron Lammas was on Ritzy Sparkle in the second race of the meeting and looked to have a comfortable lead towards the final stages of the 1200m race. But as they sprinted towards the final 50 metres, Lammas appeared to ease his mount up which almost resulted in disaster for the Kiwi jockey.
A judge had to examine the photo after the fast-finishing Fluorobus made a lunging dive at the favourite right on the post.
Luckily for Lammas, Ritzy Sparkle was declared the winner by the narrowest of margins and we’re tipping he won’t make the same mistake again.
