New Zealand Derby winner Jimmy Choux has drawn ideally in barrier six in a field of 14 for Saturday’s Group One Rosehill Guineas.
The John Bary-trained colt, to be ridden by Jonathan Riddell, is one gate inside Mike Moroney’s Absolutelyawesome who is the early favourite for the $1.5 million Australian Derby at Randwick on April 9.
Glen Boss, who won last week’s Group One double of the Coolmore Classic and Ranvet Stakes at Rosehill, rides Absolutelyawesome in Saturday’s $500,000 feature over 2000m.
Peter Moody’s Caulfield Guineas winner Anacheeva came up with the inside gate while Don’t Put It There, prepared by Jim and Greg Lee, drew the outside of the field.
David Payne’s duo of Masquerader and Praecido will jump from barriers four and 13 respectively while the Gai Waterhouse-trained Light Brigade, Nash Rawiller’s mount, has gate five.
