Injured jockey Amy Herrmann is making slow but encouraging progress in hospital almost a month after a fall at Morphettville.
Herrmann suffered head and spinal injuries when she fell from her horse after completing a jumps trial on June 19.
Thoroughbred Racing South Australia issued a statement on Tuesday saying Herrmann remained in Royal Adelaide where she was was continuing to improve.
“Amy continues to make slow but definite progress and is now able to walk around the ward,” the statement said.
“Her short-term memory is slowly improving, but there is a long road ahead.”
The 27-year-old underwent surgery for a spinal fracture while in an induced coma.
She was brought out of the coma last month.
