If you don’t believe in God, or Heaven, or the power of the great unknown, then you should now.
Two days ago Brian Davidson, a part-owner of the mare LARMOUR (Sizzling – Irish Teardrop) passed away.
Prayers for his family and the mourners went skyward, and trainer Nick Olive brought the mare to Bathurst despite the tragedy hoping and praying for a good result.
“I love this little mare, I’ve had a fair bit of luck on her and I want to thank the owners for just letting me guide her around,” said Billy Owen who rode her perfectly.
“I know my fate with her at the 700m mark. If she is travelling, I always know I will be in the finish and she was today.”
She started at $5.20 so many believed this kind of divine miracle was on the cards.
This is her 5th win and she has compiled $105,825 in stakes earnings.
Today she sat back and circle them late sprinting away to win easily in the end while the fav, The Scotsman, dropped out near the home turn and was beaten 35 lengths.
The win was her first since about a year ago and she has been beaten 11 times between then and now.
So, no coincidence that she saluted on this day, the day after the death of her part-owner.
It was divinely ordained.
