Gorup Two winner Soul Patch who ran third in Saturday’s G1 Australian Guineas has been retired after suffering a serious tendon injury.
Soul Patch won the G2 Moonee Valley Vase last year before placings in the G1 Victoria Derby and Australian Guineas but will not be seen again at the races after a serious tendon injury has seen the horse be retired by trainer Ken Keys.
“He damaged the tendon pretty significantly, so I think it’s game over,” Keys said at the Inglis sales.
Ken Keys hopes he will be able to find a home for his horse at a stud with G1 placings and a G2 win.
“He’s Group 1 placed and a Group 2 winner, so I think he should suit someone,” Keys said.
