Group One winners Stand To Gain and All Silent head weights for the two feature races at next week’s two-day Newcastle Gold Cup carnival.
The Group Three Cameron Handicap (1500m) on Wednesday has attracted 23 nominations including Group One winners All Silent, Gathering and Dealer Principal while the Group Three Newcastle Gold Cup (2300m) on Thursday has 30 entries.
All Silent has been given 58.5kg in the Cameron with Gathering to carry 58kg.
New Zealand galloper Ginga Dude is also among the entries and has been allotted 57kg.
A traditional lead-up race to the Epsom Handicap, the Cameron also has Neeson (55.5kg) and Thankgodyou’rehere (55.5kg) among a strong list of possible acceptors.
The other feature race on Wednesday’s program is the Group Three Spring Stakes (1500m) for three-year-olds which has attracted 20 nominations including stakeswinners Darci Be Good and Ambidexter.
Unbeaten gelding Just The Tonic has also been entered, as has promising colt Rekindled Alliance and Chelmsford Stakes placegetter Strike The Stars.
Stand To Gain heads the Newcastle Cup weights with 58kg and is one of three nominated runners from the Chris Waller stable.
He is joined by last-start Wyong Cup winner The Verminator and stakeswinning stayer Bellagio Wynn.
The Listed Tibbie Stakes (1400m) for fillies and mares on Thursday has 24 nominations.
