Melbourne Cup winner Green Moon is the topweight with 58kg for next month’s Caulfield Cup in handicaps announced on Wednesday.
The Lloyd Williams-owned stayer has 1kg more than his highly rated stablemate Sea Moon and 2011 Melbourne Cup runner-up Red Cadeaux.
Green Moon will try to emulate Viewed (2009) and Dunaden (2011) who both came back to win the Caulfield Cup (2400m) with 58kg after claiming the Melbourne Cup the year before.
Australian Cup winner Super Cool from the Mark Kavanagh stable, who will carry 55kg, has been heavily supported with Sportingbet Australia which now has him as the $9 favourite.
The Marco Botti-trained Australian-owned Dandino also has 55kg and is the most favoured of the overseas contingent at $17.
