Four Moves Ahead (Snitzel – Doulmera) kept her unbeaten record alive when a stunning victor of the Gr 2 Sweet Embrace Stakes over 1200m worth $200,000.
It wasn’t just a tradesman-like win, it was one carved out in fast time and done at both ends of the race.
She carried the same weight as O’President did to win the males’ equivalent race earlier on in the day. He ran 1:10:99. This filly ran 1:10:50. In the Gr 1 $3million Golden Slipper she will carry 2kg less.
This, therefore was an outstanding win while resuming. She must improve off that effort as she has had a few issues over the past two weeks, and connections must be thanking the God of good fortune for her.
She was not sold as a yearling, passing in when failing to reach the $300,000 reserve price.
Right now, with the world at her feet, she has earned $190,000 and is going to add a lot more to that in the Slipper.
Trained by Randwick’s John Sargent, who has never had a Golden Slipper runner, she looks a star of the future.
“Well, we’ve had a hard last 10 days with her,” said the trainer.
“I said to Nash (Rawiller) what she does today she will only improve.
“I could only swim her and she hasn’t had a saddle off for a week. We have 3 weeks now to get a few runs into her and we can start cranking her up. She eats, sleeps and has just got a perfect attitude.”
Runner-up SHE’S ALL CLASS (I Am Invincible – Shirra Nui) lost no Slipper admirers either. She was a good thing beaten when 3rd in the Magic Millions and you could nearly say the same thing here.
From her outside draw she was eased to last and was 14 lengths behind the lead and 12 lengths behind Four Moves Ahead as they turned for home.
She flew and failed to win by a long neck and she too will strip much fitter, on her home track, in the Slipper.
MALLORY (Not A Single Doubt – Panorama Ridge) flashed home to grab 3rd.
She was back with She’s All Class coming to the turn so her effort was first rate as well.
The win of Four Moves Ahead has shaken her Slipper price as you’d expect.
