Trainer Gai Waterhouse has won a ninth Flight Stakes with Global Glamour leading all the way in the Group One race for three-year-old fillies at Randwick.
With Tim Clark in the saddle, Global Glamour took up the running from the outsider Bridle Lane before holding off the favourite Yankee Rose and the Chris Waller-trained Sezanne on Saturday.
Clark, who broke a run of outs in Group One races, said Waterhouse and her training partner Adrian Bott, deserved all the plaudits for Global Glamour upsetting Yankee Rose.
“It was a masterstroke from Gai and Adrian, putting the barrier blanket on her. It kept her calm,” Clark said.
Yankee Rose settled last of the six runners before she was eased out at the 500m to make her run.
