A last start Group 1 winners career is in doubt after suffering damage to a vein in her neck whilst receiving treatment.
3YO filly and dual Group 1 winner Shoals may not race again after suffering damage to her vein following her win in the Group 1 Surround Stakes earlier this month.
John Messara from Arrowfield Stud has said she is being walked morning and night but it is unknown if she will race again with runs in the Arrowfield Stakes and the Robert Sangster Stakes now very much unlikely.
There is a small chance she may head to Europe to race but if not she will be retired.
Shoals has had 9 career starts for 2 x Group 1 wins and earned over $1,000,000.
Disappointing news on 3YO filly Shoals. Racing future unclear after she suffered damage to a vein in the neck area while receiving treatment the day after winning the Group 1 Surround Stakes.

John Messara from @ArrowfieldStud says Shoals is being walked morning and afternoon but there is no news on whether she’ll race again. Runs in the Arrowfield Stakes and the Sangster are very unlikely. John saying a European trip is an option otherwise it’s retirement.
