Weights for the $3 million Doncaster Mile will be released on Monday with a reduced minimum handicap of 49kg for three-year-olds.
Racing NSW brought the minimum down one kilogram to ensure a greater spread of weights for races with a minimum topweight of 58kg.
The Chris Waller-trained pair of Winx and Press Statement are the equal $6 favourites for the Doncaster, the world’s richest 1600m handicap.
Waller won his fifth Doncaster last year with three-year-old Kermadec who carried 51kg with his stablemate, dual winner Sacred Falls, ninth under 58kg.
Sydney Cup weights will also be released on Monday with the Waller-trained Who Shot Thebarman sharing $8 favouritism with the John Sargent-trained Gust Of Wind, the last horse to beat Winx which she did in the ATC Oaks.
