Surely in the wet at Warwick Farm this afternoon, we are going to see some sort of history made.
If Iโm wrong, please advise.
But the parameters are these; a $2million race with runners from three distinctly different stables, belonging to members of the same family.
The Cummings clan will have runners saddled by James Cummings, his brother Edward Cummings and of course their father, Anthony Cummings in the Inglis Millennium over 1100m.
Iโve been covering racing for 40 years and Iโve not seen that in a big race before.
The runners are: MARNIX ($15 with Sportsbet) for James cummings. SUNBORN ($23 with TAB) for Edward Cummings and dad Anthony saddles FAYERRA ($41 Palmerbet).
Soooo, what hope the trifecta?
Well FAYERRA would need to improve on her two starts to date where she has yet to place. Did run 4th last start at randwick behind the brilliant Rulership, beaten 3 lengths. And heโd be odds on if he were in this field.
MARNIX won at his only start in a Geelong 2YO beating a subsequent city winner in Cloudbreak.
While SUNBORN did win opening race at Newcastle then was a luckless 5th in a similar race to this in the Inglis Nursery beaten just over 4 lengths.
All three are talented. But the trifecta?
Bookies would probably bet you 800 to 1 them going 1, 2, 3 in any order.
