Corey Brown is returning to Australia after a three-and-a-half year riding stint in Singapore.
The 2009 Melbourne Cup-winning jockey has cited family reasons for his return.
Brown had been granted a year-long licence for the 2017 season in Singapore which begins on Sunday.
However Brown won’t be able to ride in Australia until January 28 after being suspended for two months after negligently taking a medication that resulted in the Singapore Turf Club’s medical officer ruling him unfit to ride at a meeting in October.
Brown established himself as one of the leading riders in Singapore after moving there in April 2013, riding 251 winners and was runner-up to Manoel Nunes in the 2015 premiership with 87 victories.
He also rode 17 feature race winners including the 2014 Group One Singapore Gold Cup and the Group One Singapore Derby, both aboard Quechua.
