Chief steward Terry Bailey has admitted Racing Victoria’s integrity unit considered planting informants in stables but did not go ahead with it.
On Wednesday, high-profile trainer Peter Moody said he was being targeted and he had been told 18 months ago a person had been approached about a covert role in his stable.
Bailey told Melbourne’s radio RSN the concept, directed at all racing stables, had been discussed and dismissed.
