Boom 3YO colt Royal Symphony has been ruled out of the Spring Carnival due to a a suspensory ligament injury which he sustained during the Cox Plate last year.
Royal Symphony jumped as the second favourite in last years Caulfield Guineas after winning his first four career starts but only managed a fourth in the stallion making race before another good run to finish fourth in the Cox Plate behind Winx.
No decisions have been made to when we will see Royal Symphony race again but it is likely it won’t be until the Autumn.
Royal Symphony was a $101 chance in 2018 Cox Plate markets with Winx dominating the betting at $1.50.
Tony McEvoy’s other top line contenders will all be targeting features during the Melbourne Spring with Hey Doc to work toward defending Manikato Stakes and Sunlight a possibility to return in the Quezette Stakes.
